How to do the Infinity Braid Hairstyle

Here’s another gorgeous hairdo, the Infinity braid – It’s infinitely pretty!

As beautiful as it looks, it is considered as one of the basic braids that are perfect for beginners. That doesn’t mean it’s bland and unappealing. It’s not as famous as the others and not a lot of people wear this braid and that’s honestly why I think this style is great. Sometimes, it’s good to be different, you stand out from the rest. This braid is gorgeous and we’re not giving it justice by making it less popular than the others. How about changing that narrative? Let’s start using this braid more.

If you’re looking to try a new hairdo that’s not too mainstream and common, this hairstyle will make the cut.

Do-it-yourself: Infinity braid hairstyle

Preparation: We want a tangle-free, clean and organized hair. Do not shy away from brushing your hair with a comb/hairbrush until it’s soft. Think of it as having a clean station to work with. This will make the process easier and in order.

Step one: Gather a chunk of hair

Gather a chunk of hair from the crown of the head. This will be the starting point of our braid structure. We’ll start braiding with this and then gradually

Step two: Section the hair

Separate the chunk into (2) two equal sections. This particular style uses 2 strands to build the overall structure – the left and right sections.

Step three: Grab a small piece and thread through the sections

Gather a small section of hair from the left side of the head

Take this small section of hair under the left section and lift it over the right section.

Gather another small section of hair from the right side of the head

While holding the first small section, take another small section of hair from the right side and fuse it with the first one. The next step is to take this new section of hair under the main right section and over the main left section.

We’ve just completed the first ∞ “infinity” figure. We just need to repeat this threading action of placing the section underneath and above the main sections of hair that makes the braid structure.

Step four: Finish and secure the braid

Leave at least 1 to 2 inches of hair for the hair accessory to be used to secure the braid. Finish by using a tie (small elastic, ribbon, etc) to hold the hair in place.

Congratulations! Now you know how to do the Infinity braid, all you have to do next is practice, practice, practice, and practice until each and every step feels natural and becomes second nature.

Considering the looks, usefulness, and difficulty of this style. How would you score the Infinity braid using a scale of 5? Please let us know what you think in the comments!
